UFC star Conor McGregor arrested for alleged dangerous driving
Conor McGregor was arrested in his hometown of Dublin, Ireland on Tuesday for "dangerous driving," The Irish Independent first reported.
According to McGregor spokesperson Karen Kessler, the UFC star was driving to the gym when the Irish police stopped him for traffic violations.
McGregor's Bentley Continental was temporarily seized upon his arrest, according to the initial report. He was booked at Lucan garda station and charged with dangerous driving before later being released on bail. A court date has not been set yet but is expected to take place next month.
If convicted, McGregor could face a €5,000 fine ($5,500.85) or six months jail time, or both.
The 33-year-old mixed martial artist has had his fair share of run-ins with the law during his tenure in the spotlight, including multiple driving violations. In 2019, he also pleaded guilty to assault charges after he punched a man in the face at a bar.
