After a big step up this season for RFK Racing, Brad Keselowski isn’t ready to say that the job is done yet, but he’s happy. There were a lot of positive steps this season. Both Keselowski and Chris Buescher made the NASCAR Playoffs. Also, Buescher won three races in 2023.

With the season behind us, Brad Keselowski has looked things over. As a team owner and driver, he has a lot of responsibilities. He has to look at the season and be as objective as possible so his organization can improve.

While he is happy with the progress that has been made, he wants more. The 2012 NASCAR Champion is looking forward to more next season.

“I think the overarching theme is please not satisfied,” Keselowski said on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. “Pleased with the progress, not satisfied with where we’re at. I felt like there were times last year where we didn’t look that great and then there were a lot of times last year, especially around the late summer where I felt like we looked like two of the best cars on the track.

“It didn’t all click when it needed to. That’s part of racing, that’s part of sports and life. If we get it all to click we can be a championship contender with both cars. So, pleased that we’re able to say that, we wouldn’t have been able to say that last year. But not satisfied that we weren’t able to realize it. Especially in those final eight races, or probably in the final four or six races. That’s the challenge for us ahead is getting us to a spot where we can realize that with results.”

2024 could be massive for Brad Keselowski and RFK.

Brad Keselowski and RFK Racing made big strides

In the first season of the Next Gen car, RFK Racing struggled. Ford had issues with speed. RFK especially had issues with speed. Then, in the later half of the year in 2022, Buescher started to come on strong.

In 2023, they were always right there in the points standings. However, in the era of win and you’re in, they wanted checkered flags. How about back-to-back checkered flags and three in five weeks? That’s exactly what Buescher did with Richmond, Michigan, and Daytona to end the season.

Brad Keselowski and Buescher were close all season. Both made the NASCAR Playoffs. Keselowski was right in his radio comments, if one or two races goes a little bit differently, they might have had a Championship 4 appearance.

Going into 2024 , I really think Chris Buescher is going to be a threat. It felt like the end of the regular season was his coming out party. Let’s see what he, and Keselowski, are capable of in the new season.
