Freddie Kraft, spotter for Bubba Wallace, had some things to say about the Corey Heim, Carson Hocevar debacle. The NASCAR Truck Series championship race got messy, to say the least. Kraft, a host on the Door, Bumper, Clear podcast shared his personal professional opinion on the matter.

Freddie was quick to point out that Corey Heim and his move was more egregious than what Carson Hocevar did. His reasoning wasn’t explained. However, Hocevar’s move could be seen as accidental, Heim clearly retaliated.

Also, Heim ended up costing Grant Enfinger a championship. I’m sure we’ll hear more on the next episode of DBC.

Corey Heim made a bonehead move. He slowed up and walled Hocevar. He can say something broke, he didn’t mean to, it was an accident – no. It looked like what it was – retaliation in the moment.

Ben Rhodes drove a hell of a race to hold on for all of those restarts. Still, Enfinger had him beat until the decision Heim made to wreck Hocevar. At that point, end of the season, just fight the guy after the race. Honestly, it’s better than doing whatever it was he did on Friday night.

Corey Heim causes wreck, Ben Rhodes picks up the pieces

Give credit to Ben Rhodes. He was able to make the most out of his opportunity. Restart after restart and even with Enfinger on fresher tires, barreling down on him, Rhodes held on. Then he gave another legendary press conference.

“I can’t even believe it. Let’s go!” Rhodes said after the race win, per NASCAR.com. “I hate when people do that on TV, so I’m sorry. But hey, this is so awesome, man.

“To go 25 laps into overtime, you know what that feels like? Almost lose it three times? Look at the front of the truck. It’s crazy. I didn’t think we were going to make it, I thought we were going to pop a tire. I thought anything that could have gone wrong was going to go wrong.”

The Kentuckian held on. Corey Heim can wreck all the trucks he wants, Rhodes wasn’t letting it get to him. Four overtime restarts later, Rhodes collects his second championship.
