Kyle Busch , the two-time Cup Series champion, finished ninth in an eventful race at the Circuit of the Americas. To cap it all off during the cooldown lap, the RCR driver’s car ran out of gas. He wouldn’t have made it to the pits with his car if not for his former teammate and 2017 Cup champion Martin Truex Jr. who came to the rescue.
Martin Truex Jr. was Kyle Busch ‘s teammate at Joe Gibbs Racing from 2019 to 2022, when the latter ended his contract with the Toyota team and joined Richard Childress Racing. The No:17 Camry driver is among most loved drivers on the grid owing to his clean racing and respectful attitude towards rivals. He saw Busch struggling with lack of fuel and pushed him all the way to his pit-box after the race.
The 68-laps of EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix race were filled with drama and while Truex Jr. was having a normal race, Busch was going through a different Esperance. Though the race witnessed no cautions, it was filled with drivers clashing with each other across the field.
Busch has an incident with another ex-JGR teammate in the race and unlike with the case of Truex Jr., this didn’t end well for both. On lap 41 of the race, he was spun by Christopher Bell, and it resulted in him finishing outside the top 5. Kyle Busch post-race had a heated exchange with Bell over the incident and has promised payback.

The 38-year-old has yet to score a win in the top-tier this season. However, the RCR driver has scored a pair of podiums and is on the hunt for his first win of the season. After the first road course race of the season, he took it to X to share his thoughts and admitted that it wasn’t the ideal day he deserved and hoped for.

He has now shifted his focus to the upcoming week, where both he his and son Brexton has racing commitments. Busch would be looking to dd another Richmond trophy to his cabinet and show his worth. The odds favor him as the former champion has six wins at the track.
