Andre Drummond entered Thursday fully aware of what could happen. The 6-foot-10 veteran is playing in the final season of the two-year pact he signed with Chicago, which meant there was a possibility he could get traded. However, the former All-Star did not sweat it, instead focusing on their game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The tactic worked as Drummond played well for the second game in a row, producing 21 points and 13 rebounds to help the Bulls vanquish the Grizzlies, 118-110.

Unbothered by trade speculations

The rumor mill was churning as the NBA trade deadline approached, with numerous teams reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Andre Drummond. The Philadelphia 76ers—which recently lost reigning MVP Joel Embiid to a knee injury—were keen on adding the rebounding demon. Drummond, though, was undeterred and went about his day like any other.

“I treated today like I treat any other day, went through my routine and prepared like I was playing tonight. And I’m still here,” Drummond shared.

Loving his tandem with Nikola Vucevic

Drummond didn’t start this time but still played plenty of minutes alongside starting big man Nikola Vucevic. The two players again wreaked havoc upon the opposing team’s defense. With Vucevic capable of stretching the floor with his three-point shooting, Drummond could roam the paint and dominate the boards.

“We're a force together in the paint. It makes teams deal with us on both ends of the court. I really like that lineup, and I look forward to more of it,” Drummond said.
