Bulls' DeMar DeRozan joins elite company with eighth straight 35-point game

The All-Star break didn't do anything to slow down DeMar DeRozan. For the eighth consecutive game, DeRozan scored at least 35 points, putting him in some elite company.

DeRozan scored 37 points in the Bulls' 112-108 win against the Atlanta Hawks to go with six rebounds and three assists. Only six other players in NBA history have recorded eight straight games with at least 35 points, four of whom are already Hall of Famers and two who undoubtedly will be one day.

DeRozan's unstoppable stretch of offense has helped the Bulls to a six-game winning streak that has vaulted the team back into first in the Eastern Conference. The streak has also launched DeRozan into the MVP conversation.

If DeRozan manages to score at least 35 points in the Bulls' next two against the Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat, he'd tie Michael Jordan's franchise record. Breaking the NBA record is highly unlikely, though, as Wilt Chamberlain scored at least 35 in a staggering 33 straight games in 1962.
