Bulls' Wendell Carter Jr. out at least a month with quadricep contusion

The Chicago Bulls confirmed on Tuesday that an MRI revealed Wendell Carter Jr. is dealing with a severe right quadricep contusion. "He will continue his daily therapy regimen and be re-evaluated in four weeks," the club added in the statement.

According to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Carter suffered the setback in last Thursday's practice. He hasn't played since Chicago's 125-120 win over the Houston Rockets on Jan. 18 and has missed three consecutive contests.

On Sunday evening, the NBA announced that Wednesday's matchup between the Bulls and Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum has been postponed because the league's health and safety protocols left the Grizzlies unable to dress a squad for the game.

Per Cody Westerlund of Chicago radio station 670 The Score, coach Billy Donovan did not sound optimistic when speaking about Carter:

According to ESPN stats, Carter leads the Bulls with 8.0 rebounds per game and is also averaging 12.8 points.

Chicago fell to 7-10 overall with a 119-103 loss to the Boston Celtics on Monday. The Bulls aren't scheduled to return to action until they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night.
