As the Brooklyn Nets briefly stayed at their home turf earlier this week, Cam Johnson seized a golden opportunity to enrich his off-court work and commitment to the franchise's non-basketball programs for communities.

The Nets forward paid a visit last time and surprised the students of P.S. 236 who are enrolled in the team's NETSTEM initiative.

Off-day for science and kids

In partnership with both the Nets and NBA Cares, Cam went on a great tour and engaged himself in various school activities with the students of P.S. 236.

The 28-year-old specifically pursued the visit in hopes of further helping Brooklyn in its NETSTEM program. It is the educational platform of the franchise that aims to provide an online-based STEM course to middle schools and high schools located throughout Brooklyn.

Johnson, a science geek himself, is nothing but fulfilled about his immersion and experience with the promisingly young students of the campus.

“I was able to watch them go through their STEM programs. I spent a couple of minutes in the classroom with them, and you can see the wheels turning and the problem-solving skills. They seem to kinda have a joy and maybe a little bit of fire and curiosity to them. As you can tell, they get up and they get really excited and riled, but it's cool to interact with them,” he said.

“I was really impressed by their curiosity, by their confidence, by their abilities. I had a lot of fun, I hope they did too, and I look forward to seeing them again.”

Cam and Nets are back in action vs. Bucks

Upon this uplifting visit that Cam made, he and the Nets will be back on the road for a new four-game away set. They'll face the Bucks in Milwaukee this Thursday.

With Dorian Finney-Smith out, Johnson is slated to be back in the starting lineup and obtain an increased exposure against the Bucks. He previously poured 10 points and four boards in the team's 104-91 loss against the New Orleans Pelicans.
