Celtics' Grant Williams on NBA Finals loss to Warriors: 'I still would say confidently to this day they weren't the better team'

It's been over one month since the Boston Celtics fell to the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the NBA Finals and saw their shot at an 18th championship disappear. The Celtics held a 2-1 series edge midway through the set, but dropped three games in a row to help the Dubs capture their seventh title.

It sounds like Boston power forward Grant Williams still is not over the defeat.

The Celtics' 22nd overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Williams averaged career highs in points (7.8), rebounds (3.6) and minutes per game (24.4) across a career-high 77 regular season contests (21 starts) during the 2021-2022 campaign. Williams played in all 24 of the team's playoff games, making five starts, and upped his averages to 8.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 27.3 minutes per contest.

The 23-year-old Tennessee product is expected to continue to be a key bench piece on Boston's depth chart next season.
