Jevon Carter is coming off a solid season where he averaged 8.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 42.3% from the field and 42.1% from the three-point range in 81 regular season games for the Milwaukee Bucks.
This summer, the former West Virginia star became a free agent and (on Monday) the Chicago Bulls officially announced they have signed him.
Via The Bulls: "The Chicago Bulls announced today that the team has signed guard Jevon Carter. In accordance with team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed."
On June 30, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Carter's contract with the Bulls is for three years and $20 million.
Via Wojnarowski: "Free agent guard Jevon Carter has agreed on a three-year, $20 million deal with the Chicago Bulls, his agents Mark Bartelstein and Reggie Brown of @PrioritySports tell ESPN. Carter leaves the Bucks to bring Bulls his perimeter toughness."
In addition to the Bucks, Carter has also spent time with the Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies (he was the 32nd pick in the 2018 NBA Draft).
His career averages are 5.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 40.0% from the field and 39.7% from the three-point range in 304 regular season games (he has also appeared in 22 NBA playoff games).
As for the Bulls, they are coming off a season where they went 40-42 and finished as the tenth seed in the Eastern Conference (they lost to the Miami Heat in the play-in tournament).
