Golden State Warriors point guard Chris Paul is one of the best players at his position in the history of the NBA. His resume speaks for itself as Paul is as decorated a player of this generation as there is in the league.

Paul is a 12-time All-Star and has been named to one of the All-NBA Teams 11 times. He has been a member of the All-Defensive Team on nine occasions and was named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team.

The future Hall of Famer has led the NBA in assists in five seasons and steals in six. He is currently third on the all-time assists leaderboard with 11,743, behind only Jason Kidd with 12,091 and John Stockton with 15,806.

Paul has also been a member of Team USA, representing his country in the Olympics. He has two gold medals from those teams, and his trophy case is stuffed with impressive memorabilia and awards.

However, there is one thing that Paul has yet to add to his resume that several of his peers have achieved; an NBA Championship. It is the last thing that he has to achieve in his basketball career and he is desperate to do so.

“I’m going to win a championship before I’m done, yes absolutely,” Paul said. “I can’t even process not winning a championship”

While he still believes that he will win a championship, Paul admits that a ring wouldn’t define his career. Even if he is unable to be on a team fortunate enough to win the Larry O’Brien trophy, Paul is satisfied with the career he has had.

It was something that Paul used to stress over more, but he has changed his outlook on the situation. While winning one would be an incredible achievement, it isn’t what he is basing his career and legacy on any longer.

The closest Paul has gotten to an elusive championship was in 2021 with the Phoenix Suns. That was the first time his team had advanced to even a Conference Championship. But, it was not meant to be as the Suns blew a 2-0 lead to Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks, who won the series in six games.
