Chris Paul issues one-word response on if he wants Draymond Green to return to Warriors

Chris Paul is all-in on teaming up with Draymond Green in Golden State.

Asked by TMZ Sports on Tuesday if he'd like to see the four-time NBA champion re-sign with the Warriors in free agency, Paul emphatically replied, "Absolutely."

Green, 33, opted out of his $27.6M player option this offseason, making him an unrestricted free agent come June 30. The Michigan State product has spent the entirety of his 11-year career with the Warriors, earning four All-Star selections and an NBA Defensive Player of the Year honor (2017) along the way.

The Dubs have remained adamant in their desire to retain Green. Despite rumored interest from a bevy of clubs, including the Memphis Grizzlies and Green's hometown Detroit Pistons, Golden State has "strong confidence" they'll re-up Green on a new multi-year deal, per NBA insider Marc Stein

If Green does ultimately find his way back to the Bay Area, he'll be joining forces with Paul, who the Warriors acquired in a draft day trade with the Washington Wizards.

Green hasn't camouflaged his disdain towards Paul throughout their playing careers.

"I don't like CP at all, we don't have a good relationship at all," Green stated during an appearance on the "All the Smoke" podcast back in 2020. "But I respect his hustle and I respect his IQ. He's smart as hell."

Despite some perceived animosity in the past, Paul's arrival in Golden State shouldn't deter Green from returning to the Warriors. The two wily veterans are as competitive as they come, and pairing them together could be exactly what Golden State needs to return to their championship ways.
