After months of anticipation, New Balance  has officially welcomed Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland as the newest member of the New Balance basketball family. The signing represents another move by New Balance to create a unique roster of athletes who are leaders on the court and trendsetters off the court.

"It is a dream to become a part of the New Balance brand,” says Garland. "New Balance is a family brand and it felt that way from the first conversation. The brand’s commitment to individuality and their respect for athletes to be themselves is something I deeply respect."

Garland is a dynamic guard known for his exceptional ball handling, quick directional changes, excellent court vision, and prolific shooting from all over the hardwood. He was the 2019 NBA fifth overall pick and made his first NBA All-Star Game appearance in 2022.

"We couldn’t be happier to have Darius on board," says Naveen Lokesh, Head of Basketball Sports Marketing for New Balance. "Darius embodies the independent spirit of New Balance. His commitment to mastering the game, while also giving back to his community, is incredibly impressive. Darius is driven to succeed his way, and that is something we value at New Balance."

New Balance is dedicated to fostering authentic relationships with its athletes, ensuring a co-authored approach at every step. Garland joins New Balance's star-studded NBA roster, which includes Jamal Murray, Kawhi Leonard, Tyrese Maxey, Zach Lavine, and Dejounte Murray.
