Coach Tyronn Lue indicated that Monday’s comeback win over the Cavaliers offers more evidence the Clippers are pulling it together.

“I think we’ve been doing some good things,” Lue said, via Janis Carr of the LA Daily News. “The first four or five games we were just talking about competing every single night, getting into the paint, making the right play. Over the last five games, I thought we’d been doing that. I thought we’ve been really competing.”

Forward Paul George led the way as the Clippers snapped the Cavs’ eight-game win streak. He called it the game of the year for LA.

“This is a great win, a team-boosting win against a really good Cleveland team,” George said. “… This is our best win, our biggest win.”

Forward Kawhi Leonard has now missed eight straight games while indefinitely resting his surgically repaired knee. Also, point guard John Wall continues to sit out back-to-backs.

The Clippers (6-5) next face their LA rival Lakers. So make it back-to-back games for Lue vs. his former team and former his former star in LeBron James.

Lue, James and the Cavs, of course, won the title together in 2016.

“I told the guys to just stay in the game,” Lue said of Monday’s win. “It was just a team effort. Not giving up. Not giving in. That’s who we are, and it was good to get back to that.”
