Cost of Lakers tickets outpacing those for Super Bowl LVII

According to StubHub, prime ticket prices to watch LeBron James break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's all-time scoring record are nearly $4,000 more than the best seats in the house for Super Bowl LVII.

Whether or not you feel that James is the NBA's "GOAT," the fact that prices to essentially see one player play are outpacing something as big as the Super Bowl shows how badly many people want to witness basketball history. Even at 38 years old and in his 20th season, "LBJ" is still one of the best players in the league and one of the faces of the sport.

With James now 36 points away from breaking the record, he is projected to make history during the Los Angeles Lakers home game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. It's certainly possible that the four-time MVP sets the mark during the team's next game (at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday), as he has scored at least 36 points nine times already this season.

If James is unable to surpass 36 combined points in the next two games, his next chance would come on the eve of Super Bowl LVII, at 8:30 p.m. ET on Saturday on the road against the Golden State Warriors.

Super Bowl LVII between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.
