The Dallas Mavericks are having their way of late in their second-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. After losing the first game of the series, the Mavs have pushed back hard and come away with back-to-back wins in Games 2 and 3. In Game 3, the Mavericks bullied their way against Oklahoma City, a trend that could continue and power Dallas into winning the series.

“Since March, we’ve enjoyed the physical play and we’re built to be a physical team,” Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd said about his team’s play on the court of late (h/t Mike Fisher of Athlon Sports).

Dallas Mavericks are Bullying the Thunder

In their Game 3 105-101 win at home over the Thunder, the Mavericks got another tremendous performance from PJ Washington, who led Dallas in scoring with 27 points on 11/23 shooting from the field.

That was quite an accomplishment for Washington, considering that he is playing on the same team that features the likes of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. But Washington has found his groove in the series and has been abusing the Thunder’s defense with his aggressive and physical ways on the court.

As a team, the Mavs have outrebounded the Thunder in the last two games. In Game 1, the Thunder were plus-13 in the rebounding battle, but in Games 2 and 3, Dallas has owned the glass with 10 more boards than the Thunder in that span.
