Following the NBA trade deadline, teams around the league are always looking to see which players become available in the buyout market and this season, Reggie Jackson was one of the better players made available.

Jackson was traded from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Charlotte Hornets at the deadline this season, but after securing a buyout with the Hornets, the veteran guard decided to sign with the Denver Nuggets, who currently occupy the top spot in the Western Conference.

On Tuesday night, the Nuggets officially announced their signing of Jackson, meaning that he is now a member of their roster and could play as soon as Wednesday night when the Nuggets take on the Dallas Mavericks

Now in his 12th NBA season, Jackson has seen a career resurgence in recent years with the Clippers. Joining Los Angeles during the 2019-20 season, Jackson ended up averaging 12.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game in a Clippers uniform.

This season, he has shot 35.0 percent from three-point range while averaging 10.9 points per game.

Dealing Bones Hyland to the Clippers at the trade deadline, adding an experienced point guard for depth behind Jamal Murray was key for the Nuggets, which is why adding Reggie Jackson is a big deal.

Currently 40-18 heading into Wednesday night, the Nuggets will own the best record in the Western Conference heading into the All-Star break and they definitely have a great shot at securing the 1-seed in the conference the rest of the way.

Joining a bench unit that ranks 19th in the league in scoring, Jackson will likely step into a key sixth-man-like role for the Nuggets.
