Last season, the Phoenix Suns had one of the best postseason runs in recent memory. The team led by the star duo of Chris Paul and Devin Booker, managed to defeat the likes of the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, and Los Angeles Clippers.

As a result of that phenomenal playoff run, the Suns reached the NBA Finals. But they were finally defeated at the hands of Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

While most praised the Suns for their amazing run last season, Lakers' Anthony Davis had something else in mind. Recently, Davis said that he believes the only reason that the Suns got past the Lakers was due to him being injured.

Now, AD is a sensational player and can change the outcome of the game on any given night. But completely writing off the Suns might be a tad bit too much. It appears like Devin Booker believes that too.

After he and the Suns utterly dominated the Lakers in their most recent matchup, Booker responded to AD's claims. D-Book revealed:

"Naah, that was going to happen anyways. I just think it's funny... It's all the ifs.If ifs was a fifth, we’d all be drunk. If my auntie had something between her legs, she’d be my uncle. There’s a lot of if’s in this game. And you look at history along the lines, there’s something that comes up for every team during every season. Instead of just taking the high route and going, you have to make a comment like that."

Booker's savage reply was certainly loved by NBA fans. Moreover, it seems like the Suns vs. Lakers matchups are slowly developing into a great rivalry.

Well, if Davis is healthy this season and helps the Lakers enter the playoffs after the play-in tournament, he will have a chance to prove his comments right. But that's easier said than done, the Suns have the best record in the league and look like the favorites to win the NBA Championship.

On the other hand, the Lakers have struggled throughout the season and haven't even booked a spot in the playoffs yet.
