Climbing to the 6th spot in the Western Conference standings, the Phoenix Suns dominated the Cleveland Cavaliers with a 122-101 win.
Maintaining a double-digit lead for the majority of the night, the Suns’ largest advantage reached 28 points in the 2nd quarter.
In the 1st half, Phoenix caught fire from beyond the arc. Without Grayson Allen, who is currently the NBA’s leading three-point shooter, the Suns shot 12/18 from deep.
This impressive performance was fueled by standout displays from Devin Booker and Kevin Durant. The Suns’ lethal duo combined for 36 points in the 1st half alone, nearly outscoring the entire Cavs team.
Although Cleveland mounted a couple of runs that threatened the Suns’ significant lead, including a 17-3 surge at the outset of the 2nd quarter and an 8-0 run to begin the 4th, Phoenix’s hot shooting from deep allowed them to stifle any potential comeback.
The closest Cleveland came to narrowing the deficit was 13 points in the 3rd quarter.
Booker, who had scored 52 points just two nights prior, finished with a 40-point performance, shooting 5-9 from three-point range.
Kevin Durant closely followed with 32 points of his own.
Off the bench, Bol Bol made a significant impact, playing 22 minutes and contributing 15 points on 3/4 shooting from beyond the arc. This marked Bol’s first game playing over 20 minutes since the end of February.
Looking ahead, the Suns face another tough matchup on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, with tipoff set for 7 pm.
