Draymond Green and Dillon Brooks together on All-Defensive second team

Dillon Brooks and Draymond Green feuded all season. Now they're together on the NBA's All-Defensive second team.

Brooks may not be welcome back in Memphis "under any circumstances" but he still joins the Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson Jr., who was named to the first team.

That's two All-Defensive players for the Grizzlies, who had the league's second-best defensive rating last season. Meanwhile, Green's Warriors had the NBA's 17th-best defense, but per Cleaning the Glass, the team gave up 9.8 fewer points per 100 possessions with Green on the court. He's still an elite defender but the Warriors no longer have an elite defensive team around him.

It's hard to imagine Brooks and Green being on the same actual team, given their mutual animosity, but despite their defensive prowess, both players could be on new teams next season. Brooks has been cut free by Memphis, while Green has a player option for 2023-24 at $27.5 million. He could easily move on to another team for a raise or for long-term security.

Brook Lopez is also a free agent this summer, and like Brooks, his team exited the playoffs in the first round. Green's team is down 3-1. In fact, only Miami's Bam Adebayo looks like he's definitely heading to the conference finals, although Derrick White's Celtics are still tied 2-2.

So while Brooks has discussed how he doesn't like Green, and Green has called Brooks an "idiot" and a "clown," they still have to call each other All-Defensive players. But the All-Defensive team doesn't guarantee that either will remain on their actual teams.
