Draymond Green's heckler matches his $25K fine

Draymond Green got a $25K fine for cursing at a fan. Today, the fan fined himself the same amount.

A fan named Alykhan Reymatullah, the founder of a video recruiting startup announced on Twitter that he was the man Green was yelling at. He disagreed with the fine, saying they "were just having fun," and offered to match Green's fine with a charitable donation to the organization of his choice.

Green has yet to answer Rehmatullah publicly. His first response to the fine came in his Instagram stories, where he took issue with the punishment.

"'Enjoy the f--king game. Shut up' should not equate to a $25,000 fine," he wrote, insisting that the fan yelled at him first. Green added, "I witnessed a whole Celtics arena screaming, "f--k you Draymond," repeatedly. Help me make sense of this."

It does seem like relatively mild language by NBA standards. After all, the profanity was modifying the word "game," and not describing the fan. But much like Patrick Beverley drawing a three-game suspension because of his "history of unsportsmanlike acts," Green might have gotten the fine due to his own history of, well, cursing at everyone.

Green has convinced at least one fan that the fine was unwarranted. He may not have as much success pleading his case to the league office.
