Dwyane Wade has finally responded to the trash talk from Paul Pierce.

Pierce has been going after Wade for years. The former Boston Celtics forward has constantly compared himself and his career to Wade and Wade’s career. Pierce has argued that he would have won just as much as Wade if he had the same teammates during his career.

On Tuesday, Wade appeared as a guest on “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz” and was asked about Pierce’s comments. Wade tried to take the high road and dismiss Pierce.

“Rent is expensive in America, and I’m living rent-free. I like living rent-free,” Wade said.

Wade also said he doesn’t need to argue on his behalf because his accomplishments are well known.

“It’s documented. I don’t need to say anything,” Wade said.

Pierce is a bit of a hot-take artist, so we wouldn’t expect him to ease up on targeting Wade and the Miami Heat. But at least he knows he doesn’t have a sparring partner in Wade who will be engaging with him on the matter.

Wade won three NBA championships, a scoring title, NBA Finals MVP and All-Star Game MVP. He’s probably pretty secure in what he accomplished and doesn’t feel the need to get in the weeds with Pierce.
