In Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves , Buddy Hield played a significant role. Hield led the team in scoring with his 24 points on 62.5 percent shooting from beyond the arc and gave the Warriors a 99-88 win. Before he took over the game, however, he had a slight hiccup with his in-game uniform.

After the first minute of the first quarter, Hield rushed into the locker room to change his shorts. He realized while playing that he was wearing a different pair of shorts. As he made his way back, head coach Steve Kerr had a confused look on his face. Following that, he saw that the starting shooting guard didn’t have the proper clothes and had a good laugh about it.

Even with the wrong pair of shorts, however, Hield still performed well. He eventually returned to the floor and played one of his best playoff games. Especially after Curry left the game in the second quarter with a hamstring strain.

After the game, Hield talked about wearing the wrong pair of shorts. The 6-foot-4 guard blamed All-Star forward Jimmy Butler and joked that his teammate switched it.

“Jimmy switched it out,” Hield joked. “That was Jimmy’s fault. Jimmy switched it out, and that’s what happened. So I was looking for my shorts and I thought it was the right ones. He said, ‘Yo, put these on.'”

Butler was next to him and replied with:

“That’s what you’re going with?”

“Yeah, I’m going with it was Jimmy’s fault,” Hield continued. “His locker’s next to my locker. I was looking for my shorts … I put them on, they look just alike. Got a fine for it. So it’s cool, but it’s Jimmy’s fault. Blame Jimmy.”

Kerr made an important Stephen Curry news about the Golden State Warriors for Game 2

The Golden State Warriors will battle against the Wolves without their best player. Curry left Game 1 in the second quarter and was diagnosed with a left hamstring strain. The Athletic’s Anthony Slater reported on X that the two-time MVP is considered “day-to-day” by the Warriors.

According to the recent injury report of the organization, Curry is expected to miss at least a week of action.

Shortly after their Game 1 win, Kerr told reporters that they are preparing a game plan for Game 2 that won’t involve the star guard.

“We’re definitely game planning for him to not be available on Thursday. We don’t know yet. With a hamstring, it’s hard to imagine that he would play Thursday,” Kerr said.
