Capitalizing on the absence of two key stars due to injury, Grayson Allen is quietly delivering some of the best performances of his career for the Phoenix Suns.

Allen arrived in Phoenix as part of a significant three-team trade that sent Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks and Deandre Ayton to the Portland Trail Blazers. Although there were uncertainties about what to expect from the former Duke standout, Allen has quickly proven himself as a valuable role player for the Suns.

With both Devin Booker and Bradley Beal sidelined, Grayson Allen showcased his scoring ability by contributing 14 points against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. In addition to his scoring, he also secured four rebounds and provided two assists.

In seven games this season, Allen has managed to score at least 14 points in four of them, thanks to his consistent three-point shooting. He boasts an impressive 47.2% shooting rate from beyond the arc, addressing a crucial need for the Suns entering this season.

Excluding his season debut, during which he went 0-6, Allen is averaging just over 13 points per game. To put this in perspective, his previous career-high averaged 11.1 points per game for a season.

While his playing time may decrease in the near future when the Suns’ star players return to the court, there’s no denying that Grayson Allen has proven himself as a valuable 6th man.

It is certainly early on in the season, and their record may not show it, but the Suns have so far illustrated that their depth should not be questioned.
