Hawks' De'Andre Hunter increases rehab activities after knee surgery
Atlanta Hawks forward De'Andre Hunter hasn't played since late January because of a right knee injury that ultimately forced him to go under the knife on Feb. 8.
The Hawks announced on Friday that Hunter has increased his rehabilitation activities amid the All-Star break. Atlanta added Hunter's condition will be reviewed again March 19:
The 2020-21 season has been a roller-coaster ride filled with ups and downs for the Hawks, as the franchise parted ways with head coach Lloyd Pierce on Monday. Atlanta won two straight games under interim coach Nate McMillan, a former assistant on Pierce's staff, and entered the break at 16-20 overall.
According to ESPN stats, Hunter is third on the Hawks with 17.2 points per game and fourth with a player efficiency rating of 17.65. As The Atlanta Journal-Constitution noted, Hunter was selected for the Rising Stars game that won't be played this weekend because of concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
