Hunter missed the second half of Friday's game against the Washington Wizards with right knee soreness. He appeared to have suffered the injury during the second quarter.
The 23-year-old has taken a massive step forward in his second NBA season. He's averaging 17.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 51.4 percent from the field and 36.6 percent from deep.
Danilo Gallinari will likely fill in for Hunter. The Hawks are scheduled to play the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, Utah Jazz and Toronto Raptors next week.
