Across the 2023-24 NBA season, Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis has put together a stellar campaign as one of the league's premier big men. Despite getting snubbed from reaching the coveted All-Star honors as he had done a year ago, the work he's been putting in has remained both dominant and consistent.

In fact, the recent stretch Sabonis has put together has only been duplicated by a handful of guys throughout the history of the NBA's existence.

After Monday night's loss to the Miami Heat, the Kings' big man has now amassed 40 double-doubles in a row with a final stat line of 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. The mind-boggling 40-game streak he's on currently is one that's only been reached by nine other players in NBA history, only by some of the best big men the game has had to offer.

Per the Kings, Wilt Chamberlain, Elvin Hayes, Moses Malone, Walt Bellamy, Bob Pettit, Elgin Baylor, Jerry Lucas, Kareem Adbul-Jabbar, and Kevin Love are the only other players to accomplish this historic feat. For perspective, eight of these nine players have been eventually crowned Hall of Famers, and the ninth in Love is eyeing a potential selection of his own once he retires.

The double-double streak only adds to the impressiveness of the performances Sabonis has put together across the entire season. The big man currently places sixth in the MVP race and has been a critical component of the Kings' success across the year. At this point, the sky is the limit for how long he can keep this up.

Sabonis will have a tough matchup ahead to keep the streak going as the Kings travel to take on 2x MVP Nikola Jokic and the reigning champion Denver Nuggets in their upcoming matchup on Wednesday.
