The Golden State Warriors’ misery from Tuesday’s season-ending Play-In loss to the Sacramento Kings has been compounded by rumors surrounding Klay Thompson’s future with the team. With the five-time All-Star entering free agency this season without a new deal in place, more than a few folks believe that Thompson has already played his final game in a Dubs uniform.

Thompson has now broken his silence following their brutal loss to Sacramento as he addressed questions about what the future holds for him.

Golden State Warriors News: Klay Thompson Remains Non-Committal

It’s not surprising that Thompson was hounded by questions about his offseason plans. After all, this has to be one of the biggest concerns for Golden State ahead of what is going to be a very busy summer.

For his part, however, Thompson admits that he has yet to come close to a decision:

“I still need to process the year we had,” Thompson said, via Kendra Andrews of ESPN.

“… Given that it’s April 17, I don’t think I have to pivot (mindsets) that quickly… when does free agency start? July 1? Yeah, I’ve got some time.”

He does, but it’s not a lot. You can also be sure that up and until Thompson makes his decision on where he intends to play next season, the 34-year-old is going to be producing all sorts of news headlines in the coming months.

The End Is Near

One of the more interesting questions Thompson faced on Wednesday was about entering the twilight of his career. When asked if he feels this could be his final contract, the four-time NBA champion responded honestly:

“Maybe. I don’t know,” he said. “I’m not trying to put an expiration date on my career. That’s kind of something you just go by feel.”

Thompson still has gas left in the tank, but he won’t be playing for much longer. He has a few more good years left in him and after that, it’s going to be time to call it a career.
