LeBron James takes to social media for first time since Bronny's cardiac arrest

LeBron James posted on social media Thursday for the first time since his eldest son, Bronny, suffered a cardiac arrest on Monday.

In the immediate aftermath of the scary news, scores of athletes and celebrities took to Twitter to show their support for the James family, including Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin.

The 25-year-old suffered cardiac arrest during the team's Week 17 game against the Cincinnati Bengals in early January. In May, Hamlin was cleared by doctors to resume football activities and in June, he was a full participant in practice for the first time since the winter incident.

Bronny James is an 18-year-old incoming freshman at USC and was expected to suit up for the Trojans this season. Monday's episode occurred during practice, according to a statement from a James family spokesperson said, per ESPN.

The statement said that even though the teenager was taken to the hospital, he was now in stable condition and "no longer" in ICU.

"LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes," the statement said.

Per an ESPN report, the guard is ranked 20th in the 2023 ESPN 100 rankings.

The four-time NBA MVP has made it clear for months, if not years, that he plans to stay in the Association long enough so that he can share the court with Bronny, who would first be draft-eligible in 2024.
