Let go by ESPN, Jalen Rose looks for work by releasing Detroit Pistons 2023 schedule

Jalen Rose is a basketball icon. Apparently, he wasn't iconic enough to keep him off ESPN's chopping block, though. A few months ago when the "worldwide leader" axed many of its big names, Rose -- known for his basketball analysis -- was let go.

Now looking for work, Rose wound up in the office of his hometown Detroit Pistons. In a spoof interview, Detroit's HR was unsure what to do with the 16-year NBA pro, but that wasn't for lack of looking at the basketball star's "resume".

On it were stints as a weatherman, "high-end" chef, and dog catcher. None of that past experience was interesting to the Pistons, but it did lead to one unique schedule release video.

Rose is a natural on camera. The actress playing the HR representative? Well, let's hope that's actually her role for the Pistons.

Born in Detroit and having gone to college at Michigan, Rose can often be found courtside cheering on a young and rebuilding Pistons team. Though Detroit won only 17 games last season, there is optimism that the young core of Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren and Jaden Ivey could become a homegrown "big three".

According to Fanduel, their over/under for 2023 is 28.5, and they might be an interesting bet on the over if you're feeling spicy.
