The Miami Heat were absolutely on fire in Game 2 of their first-round series against the Boston Celtics Wednesday night. Boston did not know what hit it, as the Heat suddenly found their rhythm from behind the arc and buried the Celtics with a torrent of 3-pointers.
In fact, Tyler Herro and the Heat set a new franchise playoff record with the 23 3-pointers they made in their 111-101 win over the Celtics, per StatMuse:

Herro took it upon himself to lead the way for the Heat in Game 2. He finished the contest with a team-high 24 points, thanks in large part to his explosive shooting from behind the arc. He went 6/11 from the 3-point region, though, Herro was hardly the only Heat who scorched hot from downtown. Caleb Martin punished the Celtics’ defense for 21 points and five 3-pointers, while Nikola Jovic went 3/4 on his 3-point attempts before finishing with 11 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.
Without Jimmy Butler, the Heat seem to be altering their attack a bit in the Celtics series. Butler, when healthy, is the focal point of Miami’s offense but since he makes most of his damage inside the arc, the Heat were just 14th in the league back in the regular season with a 39.4 percent 3-point attempt rate.
The challenge now for the Heat is to sustain their hot shooting, as they head to for this coming Saturday’s Game 3 at home.
