Anthony Edwards did all he could for the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night. The 22-year-old put up a valiant effort by dropping a game-high 44 points as the Wolves suffered a 115-107 loss to the Denver Nuggets in Game 4.

At certain points in the contest, Edwards looked like an unstoppable force. So much so, that the fans can’t help but compare the All-Star guard to the GOAT himself, Michael Jordan.

Minnesota Timberwolves News: Charles Barkley Dunks on Anthony Edwards-Michael Jordan Comps

Hall of Famer Charles Barkley was tuned in to Sunday’s showdown. While the former NBA MVP remains adamant that Edwards has greatness ahead of him, Sir Charles isn’t ready to compare the Minnesota superstar to the greatest player to ever pick up a basketball:

“Please America, please stop the Michael Jordan stuff,” Barkley said. “This guy has had one good playoff run. I think he’s going to be a great player…”

You have to note that Barkley played against MJ many times during their time in the NBA, so his statement here holds a lot of value. According to Chuck, the only similarity he sees between Edwards and Jordan is that “they’re both Black.”

MJ-like or not, what you can’t deny is that Edwards has been extremely impressive in what is his first-ever postseason run. He will need to dig deep and keep it going, though, as the Wolves are now in danger of losing in the second round now that the defending champs have evened out the series at 2-2.
