NBA All-Star Game voting to run from Thursday through Feb. 16

Voting for 2021 NBA All-Star rosters will begin Thursday at noon ET. Whether or not those selected will participate in an exhibition game has yet to be determined.

As Tim Bontemps of ESPN explained, the NBA announced that All-Star voting will go from this Thursday through Feb. 16. Fans can submit one ballot each day via the league's website and official app, and they can also vote for up to 10 players using Twitter.

Votes will count twice on Jan. 30, Feb. 2, Feb. 4, Feb. 13, and Feb. 16.

On Monday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the NBA is considering holding the All-Star Game in Atlanta on March 7. The league canceled the original All-Star weekend set to occur in Indianapolis Feb. 12-14 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the altered 2020-21 season that didn't get underway until Dec. 22. The NBA did, however, schedule a midseason break for March 5-10 and could use a March 7 All-Star Game to raise funds for COVID-19 relief and to benefit historically Black colleges and universities.

League owners and the National Basketball Players Association haven't yet agreed on terms for an All-Star Game.

Fans make up 50% of the All-Star vote, while players and media each receive 25%.
