The GOAT debate is a never-ending topic of conversation among NBA fans, and LeBron James' dominance over the last two decades has elevated him to be a part of that conversation as well. While many still regard Michael Jordan to be the GOAT after he went 6-0 in the NBA Finals to go with his countless other achievements, others point to LeBron's statistical dominance and his all-around game as to why he is the GOAT.

Almost everyone and their mother has had a say on the debate at this point, and Lakers owner Jeanie Buss also gave her opinion recently. In a promotional video for NBA 2K23, Buss said Jordan is the greatest of all time, and NBA fans had a lot to say about it once news reached social media, as a certain LeBron James does play on her team.

"Even the Lakers know"

"What she said.. especially after witnessing Magic, Kareem, Wilt, Kobe, and Bron.. then says, MJ is the greatest basketball player ever! Jerry West said the same thing.."

"Smh LeBron needs to walk man comeback to the Cavs"

"facts… y’all say what y’all want but it’ll never be up for discussion "

"The owner of the most winningest team just said Jordan is the goat case closed"

"LeBron will not retire as a Laker confirmed"

"Bron is not gonna like this"

"He is that. Makes you wonder does this sting LeBron a little"

"LeBron gotta go to GS now"

"When owner said that her player is not the GOAT, it is the end of debate"

"Lebron should leave this team"

"If I was Lebron I'd demand a trade "

"She really don't like Lebron"

"We can pack this show up and go back to cleveland if u feel that way jeanie."

"even the lakers ownership don’t think your guy is the goat lmao "

"Trade request to the suns incoming. He’s thinking if KD can go there why can’t I? This is the seeds"

"Thank god!! LeBron bout to leave y’all ass next year "

"@KingJames ask for a trade bro"

"If I’m Lebron I ain’t signing s**t !"

"The Lakers don’t deserve Lebron"

She should have seen this kind of reaction coming, which makes you wonder why she would say that. Praising MJ in a promotional video of a game that heavily features him is understandable, but there was no reason to go that far, even if she does truly feel that way.

We doubt LeBron cares too much about it, though, and if he was willing to work with Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert after all of their issues, he would certainly be fine here too. All signs are also pointing to him staying with the team, and LeBron would be more focused on adding to his resume than what the team owner had to say. Still, if he wins another title or so with the Lakers, then perhaps Jeanie would change her mind too!
