Detroit Pistons guard Killian Hayes is looking for a new home ... and the San Antonio Spurs could be an option.

Bleacher Report is predicting that Hayes will sign with the Spurs this season.

"The point guard-starved, future-focused San Antonio Spurs feel like a perfect fit," Bleacher Report writes. "A pass-first point guard can look pretty good when passing to a transcendent talent like Victor Wembanyama (just ask Tre Jones), and the Spurs need more players to set the table for their phenomenal freshman."

Hayes, 22, was in the final year of his contract as he awaits restricted free agency in the summer. With Cade Cunningham occupying the point guard spot of the future for the Pistons, Detroit cut Hayes to give him an opportunity to find a new home.

A team like the Spurs could benefit from Hayes. It's often been seen that Victor Wembanyama thrives when he plays alongside a point guard. Tre Jones has been part of Wembanyama's best lineups, but there is still a hesitancy to give him the keys to the whole offense.

Perhaps playing Hayes, a Frenchman, could help him build some chemistry with Wembanyama. The Spurs would have a few months to evaluate him before making a decision on him in free agency.

Signing Hayes would be a low-risk, high-reward scenario that gives the Spurs more data to look at as they move forward in their rebuild.
