NBA, NBPA reportedly discuss shortening quarantines for players who test positive for COVID-19
The NBA and the NBPA are engaged in talks about shortening the amount of time players are quarantined after testing positive for COVID-19, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported Thursday.
The report comes as the league tries to adjust in the wake of game postponements due to teams not being able to dress enough healthy players. As of Wednesday, nine total games had been postponed due to recent COVID-19 outbreaks.
The league has amended policies for recalling players from the G League and for signing players to 10-day hardship contracts to help teams dress full rosters for games and avoid postponing any more games.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver told "NBA Today' earlier this week the league has no plans to pause the season.
"I think we're finding ourselves where we knew we were gonna get to for the past several months," Silver said. "And that is, this virus will not be eradicated, and we're going to have to learn to live with it. I think that's what we're experiencing in the league right now."
