Does NBA commissioner Adam Silver have the support of team owners over the league's plans to resume the season? Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

NBA owners, execs reportedly optimistic about season return

It sounds like the NBA is ready to get things rolling on a resume to the 2019-20 season, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The NBA's Board of Governors had an enlightening call with NBA commissioner Adam Silver and the NBA Players Association that left all parties walking away feeling optimistic about a resume to the season.

"Owners and executives on the call were encouraged about the league's progress toward minimizing health risk upon a return and the league office's positive conversations with the National Basketball Players Association about the players' desire to eventually restart the season, sources said," Wojnarowski wrote.

The league plans on making a decision on the resumption of the season within the next two to four weeks, Wojnarowski added.

If and when the 2019-20 campaign resumes, the NBA would standardize coronavirus testing for all 30 teams and play at a neutral site. Places being considered to host the remainder of the NBA season include Walt Disney World in Orlando and Las Vegas.

There's been no word on whether or not the season would resume with all 30 teams in action or if teams will go straight to the playoffs.

While 22 of the league's 30 practice facilities are set to open in the coming week, it'll leave the teams who can't return to their facilities at a significant disadvantage.

However, it seems that players, owners and executives would like to complete the season in any way possible, so hopefully they can do so safely.

The season has been suspended since March 11 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
