There wasn’t too much drama at the top of the 2021 NBA Draft with Cade Cunningham being the consensus top prospect in the annual event.

While the Detroit Pistons considered trading down from the top selection, it became clear leading up to Thursday evening that the Oklahoma State star would be that top selection.

Detroit made it official in Brooklyn, picking up the transcendent talent with the first overall pick in a decision that could change the landscape of the organization big time moving forward.

The 6-foot-8 Cade Cunningham averaged 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 40% from distance for Oklahoma State last season. He’s an elite prospect and a future NBA All-Star at either guard position. Think Ben Simmons with an actual shooting ability.

That’s what the Pistons are getting to team up with 2020 first-round picks Killian Hayes, Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart. It’s a monumental moment for the organization, and the NBA world had its reactions.
