Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic was awarded the Kia NBA MVP on Wednesday, May 8. This is his third MVP award in the past four seasons.

The star center averaged 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, and nine assists in the 2023-2024 NBA season, which is top ten in the league in all three categories and one assist per game away from averaging a triple-double.

After earning his third MVP award, Jokic becomes one of nine players in NBA history to win three or more MVP awards, cjoining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (six), Michael Jordan (five), Bill Russell (five), Wilt Chamberlain (four), LeBron James (four), Larry Bird (three), Magic Johnson (three) and Moses Malone (three).

Jokic won the NBA MVP in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons, and in the 2022-2023 season, when He Didn't win MVP, he led the Denver Nuggets to their first NBA Championship in franchise history.

Currently, Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets are down two games to none against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Semi-Finals however the Nuggets host Game 3 on Friday, May 10, at 9:30 PM EST, where they hope to capture their first win of the series in front of their home crowd.
