Pacers PG joins LeBron James, Michael Jordan in rare feat

Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton wrapped up a historically successful November on Thursday night, a month only matched by arguably the two greatest players in NBA history.

The 23-year-old went off for a career-high 44 points in Thursday's loss against the Miami Heat, finishing an efficient 15-for-28 (6-for-16 on three-pointers) with 10 assists.

Haliburton has scored at least 12 points in every game this season (he missed the team's Nov. 1 loss against the Boston Celtics) and has posted at least eight assists in all but one contest this fall. Haliburton posted at least 20 points in 10 of his 13 games in November and hit at least five three-pointers on seven occasions during the month.

Seeing the Iowa State product's name next to LeBron James and Michael Jordan is a surprise, but his meteoric rise isn't stunning.

Haliburton is coming off his first All-Star season during the 2022-23 campaign, a year in which he registered career highs in points (20.7) and assists (10.4) per game across 56 contests. He also shot a career-best 49.0% from the field and 87.1% from the free throw line.

The former first-team All-Rookie is averaging career highs in points (27.0) and assists (league-best 11.8) through his first 16 games this season and is posting a career-best .519/.447/.880 shooting line as well.

Haliburton and small forward Buddy Hield were traded to the Pacers in February 2022 as part of a blockbuster deal that sent All-Star Domantas Sabonis to the Sacramento Kings.
