Playoff P may soon be becoming Process P.

According to a report by Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders on Thursday, the Philadelphia 76ers are on the list of teams that Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George is expected to consider signing with in free agency.

Per Kyler:

There is still a window of hope that the Thunder can advance and make some noise, but most in NBA circles see George heading to his personal dream situation in L.A. with the Lakers or looking at the Philadelphia 76ers.

George, whose supposed interest in signing with his hometown Lakers has already been widely reported, will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Thunder are currently on the brink of elimination in the first round of the playoffs, which would obviously hurt George’s chances of re-signing.

As for the Sixers, their arrow is clearly pointed straight upwards with a dynamic young core that won 52 games in the regular season and is now looking like a favorite to come out of the East this year.

George does have some positional and skillset overlap with core Sixers Robert Covington and Dario Saric (as well as Ben Simmons to a lesser extent). But integrating a 6-foot-9 wing who can handle, shoot threes, and defend multiple positions would definitely be a good problem for Philly to have. The Sixers, who seem primed to compete for many years to come, also fit the billing of what George recently said he was looking for out of a free agency destination.
