Raptors' Kyle Lowry could miss five games with toe infection
Things continue to go from bad to worse for the Toronto Raptors.
The Raptors headed into Wednesday's showdown with the Oklahoma City Thunder losers of 14 of their last 16 games and knowing that guard Kyle Lowry wouldn't be available due to a toe infection.
According to Nikki Reyes of TSN 1050, head coach Nick Nurse suggested the 35-year-old could miss more than just a couple of contests:
There's no good time for Toronto to lose the veteran and calming presence who, per ESPN stats, leads the team with 7.3 assists per game and is also contributing averages of 17.0 points and 5.4 rebounds. The Raptors held onto the six-time All-Star through last Thursday's trade deadline but may be regretting that decision, as they've fallen to 11th in the Eastern Conference standings and appear to be no match for any of the East's best teams.
Lowry, meanwhile, is now on track to hit unrestricted free agency this summer.
