Report: Celtics' Jayson Tatum to quarantine, expected to miss up to 14 days

The Boston Celtics will be even more shorthanded on Sunday against the Miami Heat than they were on Thursday night against the Washington Wizards.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Jayson Tatum is expected to miss 10-to-14 days due to the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Boston defeated the Wizards 116-107 on Thursday without Tristan Thompson, Grant Williams and Robert Williams, who will be out of the lineup for at least seven days while quarantining. Robert Williams tested positive for COVID-19, so he'll likely be out longer. Thompson and Grant Williams are out due to contact tracing.

Tatum has been one of the Celtics' best players this season, averaging 26.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 47.4% from the field and 43.8% from deep.

With the Duke product sidelined, Javonte Green, Carsen Edwards, Aaron Nesmith, Semi Ojeleye and Payton Pritchard will likely see more playing time.

Tatum signed a five-year, $195 million extension with the Celtics during the offseason.
