Report: Chris Bosh initially committed to Chicago Bulls in 2010

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh changed the NBA when they decided to team up and join the Miami Heat in the 2010 offseason but according to ESPN's Nick Friedell, Bosh initially committed to joining the Chicago Bulls before deciding to form the Heatles.

"Chris Bosh, according to more than one person in the organization, said that, 'I’m coming to play for the Bulls,'" Friedell said. "Straight up. He said, 'I’m coming to play for the Bulls. This is where I’m going to be.'"

Bosh had spent the first seven years of his career with the Toronto Raptors, but was largely expected to leave the team and join a new franchise. Chicago was among the teams linked to Bosh and apparently, the team was convinced they had Bosh locked down.

"You talk to people in that Bulls organization, including former players, Chris Bosh was coming to the Bulls," Friedell said. "Straight up. Chris Bosh and the Bulls were supposed to be together, at least in Chicago’s mind."

And Bosh wasn't the only member of the Big 3 that the Bulls hoped to land, as they also met with LeBron and Wade during that summer. And according to Friedell, the Bulls thought they had a shot at Wade as well.

"As far as the Bulls were concerned, they felt like they had a commitment – at least some people in the organization did – from Chris Bosh," Friedell explained. "They felt like Dwyane Wade would follow, that they hoped that that would work out."
