A former West Virginia guard is on the move. Monday evening, the Austin Spurs traded Erik Stevenson returning player rights to Jai Smith to the Texas Legends in exchange for two picks in the 2024 G League draft.

Stevenson has appeared in 24 games in his rookie season with the San Antonio Spurs G League affiliate and has averaged 9.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 41% from the field and 31% from three-point range.

The former Mountaineer tipped off his professional career with a bang registering 15 or more points in each of his first five games and hitting double figures in 10 of his first 12. However, over the last ten, Stevenson has cooled off considerably on the offensive end averaging just 4.2 points per contest. Perhaps a change of scenery will do him well.
