It was what you’d expect from the defending champions and their star player in a Game 7, even on the road.

And star guard Steph Curry did indeed score a Game 7-record 50 points as the Warriors eliminated the Kings, making their first playoff appearance in 17 years, by a 120-100 count on Sunday.

For the Warriors, these types of pressure situations are nothing new. Curry, 35, is certainly used to saving his absolute best for these situations.

“Just being aggressive, looking for the right matchups,” Curry told ABC.

Of course, coach Mike Brown and the Kings weren’t half bad themselves, though you can chalk this up to a learning situation for a younger, talented bunch with lots of promise.

Brown is the NBA Coach of the Year after coming over from the Warriors. He and his former boss, Steve Kerr, embraced tightly after the game.

Kevon Looney added 11 points and a whopping 21 rebounds for the Warriors, helping to turn a close game into a rout.

Now, for the Warriors, it’s on to Game 1 vs. old foe LeBron James and the Lakers. That starts Tuesday, and we will have much more on the Warriors, Kings and Western Conference semifinals coming soon.
