With just under four minutes remaining in Thursday night's game between the Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls, superstar point guard Steph Curry rolled his right ankle on a drive to the basket. It was a noticeable ankle turn that Curry suffered, and he limped to the locker room under his own power.
Curry of course dealt with ankle issues at the beginning of his career, but it has not been much of an issue as his career has gone on. This was an unavoidable injury, as Curry just landed wrong on the side of his foot, turning his ankle.
The severity of these injuries can vary on a case by case basis. For the Warriors, who have just begun finding their groove with a fully healthy roster, the hope is of course that this ankle injury is a minor one for Curry.
This game against the Bulls was just the second-straight game the Warriors had had their entire roster healthy. Losing Curry for any number of games would be a massive blow for Golden State as they try to secure a playoff spot with around a month left in the season.
Even when Curry is struggling with his shot, his mere presence on the court changes so much for the Warriors. Playing much better in recent weeks, the Warriors certainly hope they won't have to deal with an extended injury absence for Curry.
