The least Pistons HC Monty Williams can do is get angry

After that call and after another loss, Williams vented his frustration in the post-game news conference.

"That's an abomination. You cannot miss that in an NBA game. Period," Williams said. "I'm tired of our guys asking me, 'What more can we do, coach?' That situation is Exhibit A to what we've been dealing with all season long."

Williams' anger was justified considering the call and moment, but just how seriously does he expect the league — or Detroit fans, for that matter — to take him?

This is the same head coach who has all but destroyed the confidence of former No. 5 overall pick Jaden Ivey, who was brought off the bench to start the season and only averages 27.8 minutes per game despite being arguably Detroit's best player.

Williams' apparent distrust in Ivey has caused problems elsewhere as well, since the Pistons as an organization have had not as much of an opportunity to determine whether he and former No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham can exist together as options 1A and 1B in an NBA offense.

There's also Williams' lineups, which to borrow a phrase from him, are an abomination. 

He seems to struggle to find ways to stagger his starters with his bench — often playing an all-bench lineup in key moments of games. He also seems to favor certain players over others, no matter what seems best for the team talent-wise. 

For instance, he played Killian Hayes so much earlier this season even though Hayes clearly was no longer a good fit for the team that the front office cut Hayes at the trade deadline — seemingly to take the option of playing him away from Williams. 

So great ... Williams is angry, but that's frankly the least he can do.
