Three-time Sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams remains with Hawks on one-year, $5M deal

Veteran guard Lou Williams joined the Atlanta Hawks for a second time during his lengthy career via a trade from the Los Angeles Clippers in March.

It appears Williams is happy to stay put.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Williams has agreed to a one-year deal worth $5 million to remain with the Hawks. The 34-year-old had hit free agency and was previously linked with the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers in rumors.

Williams is a three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year and, according to Statmuse, holds the league's all-time record for most career points scored off the bench.

In total, Williams averaged 11.3 points per game across 66 regular-season contests in 2020-21, and he averaged 10 points and 21 minutes per game in 24 regular-season matchups with Atlanta following the March trade.

He then averaged 7.7 points and 15.4 minutes across 18 playoff games.
