Tobias Harris, Christian Wood reportedly being considered as replacements for Bradley Beal on Team USA roster

The U.S. men's basketball team announced earlier this week that Bradley Beal would miss the Tokyo Olympics and has entered health and safety protocols at the team's training camp in Las Vegas.

With a roster spot open, two players are reportedly being considered to fill the hole. According to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the U.S. men's basketball team inquired Thursday about 76ers forward Tobias Harris' availability.

In addition, Houston Rockets forward Christian Wood is also being considered for the position, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

Team USA has one exhibition match left against Spain on Sunday before traveling to Tokyo for the Olympics. Friday's rematch against Australia in Las Vegas was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols.

Harris averaged 19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game this season for the Sixers while shooting 51.2% from the field and 39.4% from deep.

The 29-year-old pulled out of U.S. training camp and the FIBA World Cup last summer to concentrate on keeping his body healthy for the 2020-21 NBA season.

Wood, meanwhile, averaged a career-high 21 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game for the Rockets this season while shooting 51.4% from the field and 37.4% from deep.

Team USA's first Olympic game is July 25 against France.
